The highest quality

Quality is one of the policy pillars of versdirect.nl, and is described in the VDN Quality Manual.

The VDN Quality Manual imposes strict standards on the quality of the VDN products. The VDN standards are based on European legislation as well as the prevailing Dutch Quality Control Bureau's standards (the so-called KCB-normen). Per product these standards differentiate between class I VDN, class I-2 and class II.

Versdirect.nl has its own quality managers to monitor the quality of the produce. They guide growers and make recommendations about the required product quality. Remember that avoiding quality problems saves extra costs later. So you see that product quality is a joint effort between the grower, the quality managers and the product managers at the sales organisations.

All versdirect.nl growers meet the EurepGAP requirements (covering aspects such as environmentally friendly crop protection, fertilization, hygiene and accurate registration of all product details). Additionally, all versdirect.nl growers are now certified according to the QS system; a system that is benchmarked with EurepGAP, but throughout the whole chain. This means that the distribution companies are also involved; so they are also QS certified. In addition, the VDN sales organisations are BRC and IFS certified.
