Vegetables under glass and in the open

Versdirect.nl is a growers association. Almost all the growers supplying VDN product are members of this association. The most important glasshouse vegetables are peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and aubergines. In the open field Brussels sprouts and leeks are the most important.

Versdirect.nl is recognised by the Productschap Tuinbouw, the Dutch Product Board for Horticulture, which enables the growers association to receive CMO subsidy from the European Union. This subsidy is to assist environmentally friendly production, to improve the quality of the produce and to encourage sales.

Versdirect.nl owns the chain organisation versdirect.nl b.v. This increases mutual involvement and guarantees a good balance between supply and demand. The growers work closely with the sales organisations marketing their products. The common goal is ideal distribution for the best possible price, low costs in the supply chain, high quality and environmentally friendly cultivation methods.
